Die Metailurini sind eine Tribus ausgestorbener Katzen mit wenig verlängerten und leicht abgeflachten oberen Eckzähnen. Sie werden teilweise den Säbelzahnkatzen,cite-ref-1[1] mitunter auch den felinen Katzen zugewiesen.cite-ref-fossils-explained-52-2-0[2] Gelegentlich stehen sie auch in der eigenen Unterfamilie der Metailurinae.cite-ref-3[3] Metailurine Katzen waren vom Miozän bis ins Pleistozän in Afrika, Eurasien und Nordamerika verbreitet.
